Chilli Barn Wedding Fair

Back in February I attended the Chilli Barn wedding fair in Otley, a picturesque part of West Yorkshire with the most beautiful views. This particular venue holds a special place in my heart as I got married there just over six months ago. Some might say I’m a little obsessed with the place, give me any opportunity to go back and I will!

The barn is situated on Otley Chevin with the most beautiful woodland on the doorstep. A perfect location for your wedding day!

This was the first wedding fair that the Chilli Barn had organised so I put my event planner hat on and spent the afternoon chatting to lots of local suppliers and enjoying a scrumptious hot chocolate. The weather was slightly cold and snowy to say the least but it didn’t stop lots of couples from having a look around and enjoying the warmth of the fire in the yurt!

If you aren’t aware of this lovely venue then you need to get yourself there and arrange a visit! The space is so versatile with a large garden so you can pretty much do anything you wish. The barn is also licensed for ceremonies so you can have everything under one roof!

The Suppliers

In attendance were some of the most talented wedding suppliers in Yorkshire. It was really lovely to chat to everyone and see owner and wedding coordinator Richard and Bex again, a few months after my own wedding. It really did bring it all back, is it too early to renew our vows?!

As well as the barn, exhibitors were also keeping warm and cosy in the yurt, supplied by Yorkshire Yurts. These yurts are just perfect to create additional space plus they look really trendy! We had a yurt at our wedding and it went down so well with our friends and family. A lovely little retreat away from the dance floor!

The yurt was styled by the team at Whimsical Events and it looked beautiful! The perfect set up for an outdoor wedding.

Also keeping warm in the yurt was the lovely James & Lianne Photography. Their photography style is just so beautiful and natural plus they are genuinely lovely people to chat to! Definitely the kind of photography duo you need on your wedding day.

The lovely ladies at Flowers No5 were situated in the barn and had styled the space beautifully with their flower arrangements. Based in Otley they are literally just down the road from the barn so a perfect option if you haven’t booked your florist yet!

Upstairs in the barn (yes this quirky venue is on two floors!) was the very talented Little Bird Cake Company. Their cakes are just stunning and so versatile to fit in with any theme that you have in mind for your wedding day.

Planning an afternoon tea themed wedding breakfast? Little Bird Cake Company also hire out their vintage crockery collection!

Next to these lovely ladies was the ridiculously talented Jane Beadnell Photography. I had seen Jane’s work well before the wedding fair so was super happy to be able to chat to her and see her beautiful photography on display. There is no end to this ladies talent, Jane also has her own stationery business too, JB Creatives! Each and every design is unique and completely bespoke. After having a chat with Jane she also supplied some of her stationery for a styled shoot I was working on at the time. I was so grateful and loved the design that she put together especially for the shoot.

With the weather being a little unpredictable (we live in the UK after all!) I didn’t get chance to speak to everyone but have listed who exhibited at the end of the post.

It was a really great afternoon topped off by the best Guinness cake I have ever tasted! If you haven’t eaten at the Cheerful Chilli then you really need to pay a visit especially if you are thinking of getting married at the barn. All the catering is provided by the Cheerful Chilli and it is delicious!

You can read all about my wedding at the Chilli Barn on my lifestyle blog. I’ll also be sharing my wedding day post on my event planning blog very soon!
