Organising and styling my own photoshoot has been a goal of mine since the start of the year and I’m pleased to say that after months of preparation I have achieved it, woop woop!
I knew from the word go that I wanted the shoot to have a bohemian feel to it, floral crowns and outdoor vibes are my absolute dream! I spent endless hours pinning away on Pinterest to really visualise what I wanted to achieve which enabled me to get the most amazing suppliers on board.
Blush pink, peach, grey and copious amounts of copper was the chosen colour palette for this particular shoot. Seeing these colours together instantly makes me stop scrolling when browsing my Instagram feed. The combination is really eyecatching and perfect for the relaxed outdoor vibe.
For this shoot I wanted to do things slightly differently and arrange a Bride and a Maid of Honour model to really showcase their friendship on camera. As a recently married lady it meant so much to me to have my sister as my wing woman both in the lead up to the wedding and on the day so I really wanted to get this message across with lots of love and laughter! Luckily for me, Lianne Gray who is a wonderful storyteller with her photography had the exact same vision in mind.
Kayleigh Richmond (bride) and Hannah Lawler (maid of honour) have known each other for a very long time so it was great to see their friendship come across on camera. They both looked so beautiful and worked so hard all day in the scorching heat!
The location was a fabulous Yorkshire barn venue in Holmfirth, a lovely little town in the heart of the countryside. Part of Applewood Weddings, this venue is really special and offers not only a barn but bags of outside space for you to create the ultimate outdoor wedding. I really loved the relaxed and secluded feel to the venue and also the flexibility of being able to create whatever we had in mind! It’s always nice to work with a venue that has no restrictions and gives you the freedom to pretty much have your wedding however you like. The way all venues should be in my opinion!
Sourcing the perfect people for this shoot was really straight forward thanks to the vast amount of talent out there. I really do feel so fortunate to know so many talented individuals who work so hard to create such beautiful products and services for their couples.
All of the suppliers involved have a huge passion for the boho theme so it was lovely to work with them all and for them to be on board with my thoughts and ideas.
A special thanks has to go to the amazing Candra, owner of Wild Rose Hair. Thanks to her wonderful connection to Amy George Makeup, she travelled all the way from Surrey to take part in the shoot! Candra creates the most stunning styles with braids to die for. I really hope I get to work with her again, maybe a trip down south could be arranged?!
Be sure to check out all suppliers and get in touch if you like what you see! After knowing most of these ladies beforehand and working with them on the day, I can guarantee that they will go above and beyond to create something magic for your special day.
